The 5/8 dowels were perfect for my DIY fluted tables. I used the full lengths for a tall pedestal table and cut others in half to make side tables. I did find some of the dowels to be bowed so I do recommend getting a few extra for projects. Overall, very satisfied. The wood is very smooth and nice quality so there was minimal to no sanding needed before we painted.
