My journey into sleeping with wool-based products began with the search for a new mattress. It transpires that even premier manufacturers such as Vispring recommend using a topper for both extra comfort and to ensure longevity and even wear of the mattress. Having ordered said mattress, with a waiting period of four to five weeks, my wife and I decided to buy a topper straight away with the idea of making the old mattress more comfortable during the wait. Vispring’s topper is £800 for kingsize, so we began the search for an alternative. I’m extremely pleased to say we stumbled across the Woolroom and that we purchased a topper from them. It upheld all of the claims made, proving to be comfortable and temperature regulating, and provided the best night’s sleep we have had in many years.
So impressed were we that we decided to purchase a light-weight luxury duvet and luxury pillows, and as the cost of the package was not much extra, went for a set that included the mattress protector. The duvet has added tremendously to the comfort levels, with the bed being toasty within seconds but not getting too hot as the night passes by. Turns out too that I was suffering from dust-mite allergy; thanks to these wonderful wool products the bunged up feeling and sniffles have almost completely gone.
The pillows took a little getting used to, feeling kind of lumpy, but plumping up as instructed and removing a little of the wool has rectified that initial issue. I do however feel that the pillows could be slightly better than they are. Although the quilted outer is much better than similar products I have looked at, I would like it to have a thicker depth to the padding, more like the topper. Therein, the loose wool interior would be less impacting on my obviously delicate skull.
So how about it, Woolroom? How about an extra thick padded layer on the pillows? If you decide to give it a go, send one my way; this satisfied customer will gladly be a guinea pig.
