I bought a crib mattress pad. I live in USA and our crib mattresses are a bit larger so I knew the pad would be a bit short. I carefully cut off the fitted sheet part of the mattress pad, so I was left with a flat wool pad. I can now lay this in the center of my baby's crib mattress and put a fitted sheet over it. The wool is great quality. I have used many wool products over the years. I haven't been able to prove its waterproof-ness yet, but I am confident it will do just fine because it is 100% wool.
