For over 30 years I have had woollen blankets on my orthopaedic mattress to soften it as per advice of Chriopracter for back problems. The difference however when I placed the woollen topper on top of the aged woollen blankets was amazing. So incredibely very soft and comfortable. I was much more comfortable. It felt quite luxurious like I was sleeping on a very expensive good quality bed in a hotel. I could feel the difference immediately. Economically this woollen topper is excellent value for money. To layer a single bed with blankets to the depth of this topper would be more expensive than buying this topper. I do have major sleeping problems so I did not expect this topper to be a magic bullet to chronic insomnia. But I am much much more comfortable and there does seem to be improvement in the quality of my sleep. I think my sleep is a little deeper now which is a good thing. Also when I wake up in the night to go to the loo I go back to sleep quicker. The elastic on the topper stretched over not my mattress easily but also the layers of 30 year old blankets so it is firmly in place. I have weak hands and it was not a problem pulling it over the mattress. I would highly recommend this topper.
