This book was so amazing, the way it was written completely swept me off my feet.
The writing style was great, it was easy to read and the vocabulary is also quite easy. I read the book in my native language (Dutch) and I remember the plot was so beautiful.
The characters are well written, and I love how the story goes back between the past and the present.
The story is told from the main character, Nuri, who tells the story of his life in Aleppo, the war, fleeing the city, and his and his wife's new life in England. The struggles of PTSD are described in a very emotional way, as well as dealing with the uncertainty of being a refugee.
I totally recommend reading this book, even people who find it hard to get through a book, as it doesn't have that many pages, has an easy flow and incorporates a beautiful and heartfelt story.
