Pamela
I was quite disappointed in this book as it is very American. It refers to diapers and Mom throughout and in a vague way feels inappropriate for a British child. It also refers to 'Mom' eating strange foods and constantly losing her car keys as if she has become a different person and Dad says that she will be back to normal after the baby arrives!!!!! The inference being that growing a baby makes you strange - I don't agree with that, pregnancy is not an illness and normally does not make women any different. There are many good things about the book such as the way the brother resents the idea of a new baby but ends up liking it but overall I would not recommend it for a British family.
