It's very frustrating when I've ordered the goods on the firm understanding of the delivery period and on the final due date you send me an email telling me that "due to unforseen circumstances" you don't have the book!!! You should make it obvious on the webpage that the book isn't available so that I can go elsewhere to buy the present and make sure it's there for her birthday.
Within 48 hours of being notified that you don't have the book I then receive an email stating that the delivery is on its way. More thought is needed as to the customer experience.
