I banged the car into the garage door! The door is old, and I just did not realise how slowly it is opening now. The WR technician commented that this sort of thing needs a lot of experience to work out how to fix, since every door is different. He was able to get it working again as part of the regular annual service, which was a relief to me and the wife.
