On 24th November 2015 I made an order online for a three piece suite and was given a delivery date of 18th December between 10am & 2pm. I recieved a text message confirming this and my old suite was taken away the day before the expected delivery. The delivery never happened so I looked online and found out that the delivery had been re-scheduled for a date in January and at no time had I been informed of this. I rang the Argos customer service number and eventually got to speak to an Argos Direct Team Leader who managed to get the delivery date brought forward to the 23rd December which I agreed to accept and was confirmed to me in an email. I spoke to the Team Leader on her mobile phone on the morning of the 23rd December and she confirmed it would be delivered that day. The suite did not arrive so I rang the customer service number. The person who I spoke to was one of the most obnoxious people I have ever had to deal with and he denied all knowledge of the delivery date being moved forward despite me having an email confirming it. When I told him I wanted the suite delivered that day as promised he said "well your not going to get it then are you". After getting nowhere with customer services I then used the Argos Helpers Twitter account to find out why the suite wasn't delivered but never recieved an answer. I was eventually given a delivery date of 4th January 2016 which was confirmed in an email, and once again the suite wasn't delivered. My wife rang customer services and managed to speak to another Team Leader who then arranged for two further delivery dates, the sofa on 7th January and chairs on 15th January. Both of these deliveries were made. We had re-arrange our Christmas and New Year plans because of having nothing for guests to sit on. The level of service we recieved from Argos was nothing short of appalling and we eventually recieved a cheque for £75.00 as a goodwill gesture. I never did get an answer why the delivery dates kept getting missed. The feeling I got with dealing with people at Argos was one of a couldn't care less attitude, despite the many empty "we are sorry" comments. Even in the covering letter with the cheque was wrongly worded and was obviously meant for someone else. Needless to say we won't be shopping at Argos again.
