If you're considering purchasing electrical goods from Argos, I urge you to think twice. My experience with this company has been nothing short of frustrating and disheartening. Their blatant disregard for consumer rights is alarming, and their customer service is nothing more than a façade. When I encountered issues with a faulty television that barely lasted a year, I reached out for support. Instead of assistance, I was met with dismissive responses indicating that they do not issue deadlock letters or engage with Alternative Dispute Resolution services. Their exact words were, “We are not affiliated with an ombudsman service.” Essentially, this means that if you have a problem, your only recourse is to drag them to the county court—an option that comes with significant costs and hassle. Adding to this, Argos absurdly expects customers to bear the cost of an independent report to determine what’s wrong with the item. This is not only unreasonable but also indicative of a company that has no intention of honouring consumer rights. In contrast, retailers like John Lewis stand by their customers and ensure that your rights are respected. If you're looking to purchase electrical goods, do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere. Save yourself the aggravation and expense that comes with dealing with Argos. Your peace of mind is worth it.

Awful experience. Terrible customer service. Deliveries cancelled with no explanation...I could go on but I've wasted enough time with this retailer. They won't survive.

the Cannock branch would not let me pay for the item in store because they were having some work done. even though it was in stock at there store. told to go to reedswood Walsall if i wanted it that day. got there . the screen display says its in stock. so i paid for it on my card. on receipt it says collect next day after 4 oclock. the lady on the desk said it was in stock at the time you placed the order but sold out as i paid. offered a refund of come back next day. what a joke. since sainsburys got involved it has got worse.. 5 years ago argos was great. not anymore.. not going here again. AMAZON. is same price and free delivery.. i wish i had just used Amazon in the first place instead of three visits to argos for the same thing. not happy Argos. you have lost my custom for ever now

Ordered a sofa that arrived with half of it missing. Argos told me they couldn't help and would need to cancel the order. I re-ordered and the delivery date given was right at the end of the 11 week wait time. This delivery has now been pushed back a further 8 weeks with no call or email to explain why!

Placed an order for a washing machine on the 19th January was to be delivered the 23rd the drivers filed it as failed delivery due to "access" but never even knocked at my door is would of been able to assist with route to my back door. Arranged redelivery online chat for the 29th on a small van. After receiving and email for delivery on the 3rd of February (a date id refused as it simply wasnt good enough) so I called customer services on Monday the 26th for her to confirm it would be delivered the 29th on a small van. Today the 29th and no machine!! Called customer services to be told that's its booked for the 3rd February and no sign of a booking for the 29th! Asked for them to listen to the call from the 26th confirming small van delivery but he cant access that apparently. 2 weeks no washing machine with a family with 2 disabled children absolutely disgusting. I WILL NOT be using this company anymore after this!!!!!!

Bought a psvr2 for our 7 year old at end of November for his Christmas present, he loved it but 2 weeks into January the left hand set failed, just took complete boxed set back to ask for it to be swapped (not a refund), as faulty, to the Boston store (he asked to come with me as he was excited to get back on his vr) the staff were rude and told me it wasn't their problem and we have to contact Sony, as I pointed out, it's faulty, i bought it from Argos, my contract of sale is with Argos, they never even took it out to check it just kept saying it wasn't their problem and they had no interest in sorting it out and then stood smugly watching as I left with my 7 year old in floods of tears. Will not be using Argos again if I can help it and advise others to boycott as they are happy to take customers money but don't care when customers are upset, even seem happy about it.

Such an awful company. Firstly, the goods are average. But they are cheap so you expect it. But the major bug bear is THEY CANNOT GET THEIR ORDERS RIGHT. I ordered 4 suitcases and they only delivered 3. I asked for the 4th to come and they said to cancel my order and reorder. What a palava! Why on earth they couldn't just send me the missing suitcase is beyond me. And it took around 30 messages to resolve. Then what has happened now is I have ordered 3 rugs that were due to be delivered this week. They have failed to be sent and argos now wish to deliver when I am away. I have alerted them I am away for a week but they can't deliver when I am back because to book a date for a week in advance is too soon. Wtf???

Don't even bother with these people, just a bunch of incompetents. It is just quicker and easier to order in Amazon. I ordered something to be picked up, on the ordering page it says would be ready for collection from 9am next day, then I got a email saying would be ready from 5pm, then a message saying that it was delayed, I call customer service, and assured me that I could pick it up between 5pm and 11 pm ( to a shop that close at 10pm) And two days later still nothing

I am absolutely distraught, waited all day yesterday for delivery of American fridge freezer time slot 4-6pm and no show. contacted their chat line and told van broke down. Asked why I was not informed of this as I had been waiting for it to be delivered and they had both my email and telephone number? I am disabled and have no refrigerator to keep my milk or other foods, I was told when I telephoned that it may still be delivered up to 10pm. Wish I had seen all these reviews before I had placed an order with them, still no contact from them today about delivery, stay well away from this company, pathetic excuses given for non delivery as surely they would send a replacement van to deliver the goods to their customers, if it was really the case that the van had broke down.

I purchased an Epson printer 13 months ago with a 1-year manufacturer warranty and paid £57.99 for a 3-year extended guarantee from Argos. When the printer failed beyond repair, Argos issued a replacement voucher but simultaneously cancelled my extended guarantee without offering any refund or the option to transfer it to the replacement unit. I paid for three years of coverage and have only received 13 months of protection. Argos is refusing to either refund the remaining £38+ for the unused guarantee period or honour the full term I purchased. This means I've effectively lost two years of paid coverage through no fault of my own. Customers who buy extended guarantees expect continuous protection for the advertised duration, not coverage that vanishes when you actually need to use it. This practice feels like taking payment for a service they have no intention of fully providing.

What is it about this company that is everything a good company doesn't want to be. Especially things like laptops, tablets and most phones. The majority are outdated models bought for peanuts and sold on at exorbitant prices. Always look elsewhere first as they are likely to be cheaper.

The drivers from this delivery company are absolutely ridiculous. They clearly don’t care about customers and do everything they can to avoid doing their job. The first driver didn’t call me an hour before, as Argos promised, and then claimed there was “no parking space” — which is a lie, because there is parking behind my building. And after that excuse, he cancelled the delivery altogether. The second driver didn’t call, didn’t show, and didn’t even bother answering the phone. The third driver only delivered my washing machine because I told customer service I was going to cancel the entire order. I am done with Argos. I will never buy from them again. Their delivery times take a full week, and their drivers simply don’t care about anything.

RIP off mis-selling of policies which they state on website and app run after the manufacturer’s warranty finishes…but once you have bought the policy it will state the the policy starts at the date of purchase RIP off Argos and lousy customer service BEWARE

I had the worse possible service with Argos. The product I bought turned rusty for no reason, after 5 months. I revised to refund me but made some arrangements to deliver and collect the old hob. The time slots given were ridiculous and one cannot fit into it - paying someone to dismantle the old hob and making him wait for 3 hours ( the slot given by Argos) to install the replacement hob that is supposed to be delivered by the Argos guys. No narrower slot. No accommodating of customer’s request. All that for the faulty product inserted below. Argos levels has dropped significantly. Once that was a good shop!! Shame!
