We ordered a washing machine from Argos on the 27th July for delivery on the 8th August (morning slot 8am-12), we received 2 messages the day before confirming delivery and 1 on the morning at 7am. My husband is self employed to cancelled work to stay at home for the delivery. 8am we received a text to say that you were not delivering our washing machine and a new order had been raised to deliver it on the 20th August. Why does Argos think it's acceptable to inform us that the order has been cancelled on the delivery date/time? Why does Argos think it's acceptable to leave someone without a washing machine for (almost) a whole month? My husband has lost wages as a result and I still have a mountain of washing - my elderly, ill father lives with me so I need a washing machine and it's been a struggle to manage without between 27th July to the 8th August, let alone having to wait until the 20th August. I was then given a 'new' delivery order number - why? Was it to meet a delivery target that was never going to be met? Totally dreadful service. I have cancelled the order and placed one through Curry's who are going to deliver within 48 hours - something I should have done on the 27th July. I suggest everyone does the same
