Where do I start the orders where they took money and no order went through or the horrendous customer service.
I ordered some toys as online was 20% off with toys20 code and I also was emailed a £5 off online voucher if soebd icer £40. I was unsure if would work together but thought would try. To my joy they did so got great bargain on couple of presents for my children.
Payment went through but i dudnt recieve order number email or text and my account did not show order.
I gave it 30 minutes incase delay. I checked bank and money was being held pending not once but twice!!!!
After a long period of time of trying get through on telephone I finally got through to the worst representations I think I have ever encountered from any company I have ever dealt with.
He told me was a ghost order so is not actually order as no order number sent. Asked why money taken then not once but twice? Had no reason just something which happens all companys. Said is likely after went through item was then out of stock .
I said that is not true as items were still in stock I could place new order I'd wanted but only difference now is wont except both discounts.
I said was more likely argos did want honour the discounts so didnt process.
He suddenly very dumb said if were excepted be applicable asked him trace order said cant pressed well csn as will be bank transaction with my details etc..... then I was lied to told no way they can trace a payment .
Told me ghost orders very common and nothing suspect and argos do no wrong. I suggested if case why with all millions this fixed on websites to not occur.
I further asked as no order when my money returned as holding twice he replied not actually been debited only pending so be returned automatically in 48 hours. I asked if was true being a friday as weekend or would have be working days. No no be 48 hours there system automatically cancels it. Argued wrong should be instant take money no order went through I cant purchase toys I wanted as they took all my spare money !
Asked to have details of complaint department as I felt not good enough and if complained argos look into stopping this happening anyone else .
He advised myself argos do not have anyone to complain to only him at customer service. No email no address. I told him that was ridiculous all companys have to have complaints department same as they have be accountable to some sort ombundsman?
He repeated this was untrue and no complaints department or legal obligation to have one!
After realising I had been speaking to a compulsive unhelpful liar I rang my bank. Who firstly confirmed yes funds pending i explained situation and they confirmed firstly that argos could find transactions and cancel with details . Lie number 1.
Told me if has been cancelled automatically as he said that bank would pit money straight back in for me but advised in experience they not automatically cancelled and can take days. He said when cancelled takes 10 days to return. So 48 hours lie number 2.
Bank checked transactions and had not been cancelled so they could not return funds for me incase I was lying and had actually recieved order number and goods. I do understand this.
To further help me to get money back asap they said if I rang back argos and got them cancel their end and explained to me how they could with bank details authorized codes etc and is done when genuine mistakes happen then bank would honour and return money straight away and make me wait 10 days. I was concerned as being charged twice large orders with payments due leave bank I could become overdrawn. So more lies argos 3 that not automatically cancelled they will hold money ages.
Friday afternoon I could not get back through argos to help.
For reference my mother then ordered the toys perfectly fine using toys20 code but not with my other code. Confirming argos deliberately didnt prices order as were refusing honour discounts and the lie number 5 that was because was out of stock proven.
This is disgusting horrendous underhand and how they don't help give you money bank and lie lie lie is disgusting sad as i will not shop with them again .
When i had issue Anazon when item genuinely became outstock they reversed charges instantly. So no such thing as cant is clearly wont. Argis you deserve go under it's not so much the ghost order but the lies and not helping appalling customer service you will lose your customers. But you wont know will you as apparently noone can complain as no department for complaints in the company.
