Went in to buy a birthday cake from the bakery during my lunch hour. I arrived at 12:10pm. The bakery was unstaffed so I approached several Asda “colleagues” and the response was “sorry, not my department” every time. I walked to Customer Service who promised to put a call out over the PA. She did not!
I stood outside the bakery until 13:00 when someone arrived to start their shift. By this time my lunch break was over. I decided to wait for the cake and got back to work late, still not having eaten my lunch.
When I enquired about the cake I told them I would be popping in at lunchtime and no one told me that staff would be absent. Why was there no sign stating “out to lunch” or “closed”?
