As a former customer service champion and employee of Clarks for nearly 10 years, I was disgusted with the lack of customer service in both the Northfield and Next franchise store in Selly Oak. Neither me or my partner were greeted by a member of staff, the shop was empty and the three employees (including the manager) stood around the sales desk talking and looking at their phones. Both shops were disorganised and messy on arrival which could have give something for the staff to do. The hipster clothing worn by all was not fitting of the brand and if the shops had have been busy it would have made identifying who actually worked there difficult. I'm genuinely disappointed with the slipping standards of customer service that clarks now feel is acceptable
