I visited the Lombard, IL, location today with the intention of purchasing a pair of gym shoes and two pairs of sandals. While browsing on the first floor toward the back of the store, I sought assistance from a store associate to find my size in the Oofos sandals. The employee told me he didn’t know if they had my size and made no effort to help—he seemed completely uninterested in assisting me further. He was far more concerned with having a conversation with another co-worker regarding getting out of work on time!
When I handed him a box of shoes that didn’t fit, he wouldn’t even make eye contact—just extended his arm in a dismissive gesture. His overall demeanor came across as apathetic and unprofessional.
I was so disappointed with the lack of basic customer service that I left the items in my cart and walked out.
Is this truly the level of service customers are expected to accept now—staff standing around, refusing to assist shoppers who are ready to make a purchase?
This experience was frustrating and frankly unacceptable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to improve training and accountability.
