Charge 5 device was bricked after a firmware update. This appears to be an extremely common problem, so buyer beware!
Fitbit initially tried to fob me off with 30% off another Fitbit device but I persevered and they agreed to replace it… but nothing received after 2 months.
Contacted support again and was told my case was being dealt with by a “special department” and they could give me no further info as to when or if I would receive a replacement. I think the whole conversation was AI to be honest.
In summary:
- don’t give this company your money. They don’t deserve it.
- their customer “service” is designed to frustrate. They twist and turn like a snake.
- don’t forget that Fitbit is owned by Google: they bought it for your data.
- your expensive device may break; good luck getting a replacement.
- sending out an update that caused large numbers of devices to malfunction, and then offering a discount on a replacement is pretty corrupt.
- avoid, avoid, avoid.
No stars.
