I’m hugely disappointed about my experience, so let me explain in full. I ordered McDonald’s yesterday, it was first delayed in delivery so took over an hour then when it arrived I went looking for the driver, by the front door. As I was at my girlfriend’s house a different address from home, I was issued a code to give the driver. I waited and waited, did not see anyone, then I get a notification that the food had been delivered. As I didn’t have it and there was no way to contact the driver I had to go through the app and complain. I never heard back from JustEat until today, saying I cannot get a refund because the driver attempted to contact me multiple times and as there no response left my food in a ‘safe place’. So my complaint 1) if you issue me a code, and I’ve provided the driver with the full address of where the deliver is meant to be where would the safe place be other than at the house it was meant to deliver to. I did not receive me food! 2) I never received an communication from anyone to say that the driver attempted to contact me multiple times and no proof was provided and no proof of where this safe place was 3) why is you app not built to communicate this as for example Uber Eats is. 4) having no contact number to JustEat but then waiting an entire day to respond which I need to add I had used the last bit of money I had with food is an essential, I believe completely inappropriate I’m very disappointed in the overall service and I’m considering no longer ordering from this company
