So summer has arrived and, sadly, the sweater had to be put away. I have the military zip cardigan and the crew neck pullover. I REALLY like these sweaters. Not once did I pull a coat from the closet. On particularly (very heavy) windy days, the wind shell went over the sweater while in town, but mostly just threw over the wool poncho made from an old army wool blanket to break the wind This was especially useful for morning coffee outside (as I clear and redesign our micro-farm, there are currently no windbreaking trees. Even when the temps dipped into the teens these sweaters were amazingly comfortable. My layers were typically a t-shirt, a base-layer sleeve t-shirt (woolen) a flannel, and a Dachstein. Even riding my motorcycle with the shell to block the wind was super warm at highway speeds. My motorcycle is my go-to warmth tester for all cold-weather clothing. 35*F at 60mph is around -4*F. In my testing (weather permitting), my Dachstein sweaters did well (with a windbreaker) down to 20*F at 60-70mph. Damn near froze my hands off, but that will be a new test for new gear this coming winter. I have come to take jokes from my friends and co-workers about "Whenever winter gear gets authorized, there's always that one guy in sweaters"... Bro, you have no clue. I will always tell them with that "i know better" smirk. Oh, one of my first tests was a winter backyard campout. A tarp to block/deflect the wind, a cot with a wool blanket "mattress" and a wool blanket over the top. Nailed it. warm all night (til my shoulder went numb from the cot). I look forward to "blowing more money" on Dachstein products. Great job folks! Keep this quality and I'll be a lifetime customer!!!
