Disgruntled Customer
I bought two expensive sound speakers from Takealot. I received both. However, the original packaging was clearly tempered with. Nevertheless, I didn't open the items until I bought the required TRS cables. Upon opening the boxes, one of the speakers had some chipped damage. I didn't really care about it, even though I did pay for new speakers. This was not the case when I played some music through the speakers. One of the speakers were not playing correctly. So I logged a return for exchange because I already have the other one, and I want the pair to be uniform in my audio setup. It was collected from my home, and a few days later I was informed that my request was declined due to "visible user damage" in reference to the chipped off covering. This is Takealot alleging that I damaged the speaker. Now I sit with 1 speaker that works, the other 1 that doesn't. I will have to pay an electronic technician to fix it for me. All of this, after paying big bucks for something that was advertised as brand new and in working order. I supported Takealot for several years, and I spent well over R40 000 through them, but this was the last, and I will discourage others from using them.
