Purchasing a gaming controller that was on special, thing was faulty so I returned with the option of replacing, after a month of the controller sitting at the merchant, they decided they are not replacing it because its not at the same price anymore, and on top of that Takealot has not credited me yet and is saying the case is concluded.

There platform is very difficult and they take very long when it comes to returns. They are quick to sell but when it comes to returning or refunding you are no longer a priority for them

Takealot was good, but ever since Amazon arrived in South Africa, things got real bad real quick. They got the whole premium membership thing and boom, waiting time went from 7 days max to almost 2 months... at this point i don't think it's worth buying on there again and i probably won't buy from them for a good while. It's sad to see the best online shop in south africa going to probably one of the worse in just a couple of months.

Disappointed with Takealot right now I ordered a Whole Body Fitness Vibration Platform Machine (Order #206816361) that was clearly showing as available. A few days later, they cancelled my order without warning. When I asked why, they came back with a bunch of generic excuses like “pick failure”, “stock inaccuracy”, “incorrectly listed”, and then blamed the third-party seller (Divine Touch Luxury Goods). They even started quoting their Terms & Conditions instead of giving a proper explanation. I get that it’s a third-party seller, but Takealot is the one displaying the stock and taking the money. If an item is shown as “in stock” and I’m allowed to buy it, I expect the order to be honoured — not cancelled with weak excuses. All I wanted was the machine I paid for, or at least a decent replacement. Instead I got copy-paste responses and legalese. Takealot, can you please give a real answer to these questions:Why was the product incorrectly listed as available if there was no stock? What are you actually doing to stop this from happening to other customers? Has anyone else experienced the same thing lately with Takealot cancellations? Order #206816361

Dear Takealot, I want to thank you for not refunding me on the defective R300 watch face cover I bought from you. Not only is this saving me the monthly "Takealot More" fee, it gave me the needed push to find alternative suppliers for the items I used to purchase from you. I also noticed that the item is no longer for sale, I wonder why... You have already lost at least triple the value in sales of that one item from me and and it's only been a couple of weeks.

I am at my wits end with Takealot. My husband ordered a Nissan GTR RC car for my son for Christmas, a few months later the car is faulty, did a return and got a replacement with 2 batteries short, I returned the car with the accessories and the 3 batteries but I only got 1 battery back. My husband then wrote to takealot to advise he need the 2 other batteries and without reading the description they insisted it only comes with 1 battery as per the "REPLACEMENT" order and not looking at the original order that came with 3 batteries. We were then eventually told to return EVERYTHING again in order to get my 2 batterries (We stressed that it does not make sense that we must return a fully functional car just to get the batteries back that was not returned to me) today we received the "Replacement" AGAIN WITHOUT THE 3 batteries, I am not sure if the whole of takealot cannot read or are just thick but how difficult is it to send back what was ordered. Who does 1 need to speak to so they can understand SIMPLE english. Once again my 7 year old son must now be left disappointed, the service from Takealot is beyond pathetic at this point.

My wife is addicted to the online giant and usually has no issues. She bought me a pair of Columbia PFG (performance fishing gear) takkies. I'm sure that they weren't cheap. After 3 wears the sole started to come apart. My wife logged a return and Takealot collected and returned them to us saying it is normal wear and tear over time. After 3 wears and only had them for less that a month, is that acceptable? Who gets to make those decisions and are they truly qualified to do that?

Caught Between LG and Takealot: Months Later, Still No Refund or Replacement I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience trying to return an LG microwave purchased via Takealot that stopped working just a few weeks after purchase. Takealot directed us to LG for a replacement under a policy that was not clearly explained at the point of purchase. After considerable effort dealing with LG, we eventually obtained all the paperwork and confirmation LG said was required for Takealot to process a credit. Despite this, Takealot’s Zendesk support was largely unresponsive, or repeatedly sent us back to LG, as if the required information had not already been provided. This resulted in endless back-and-forth with no resolution. The microwave was purchased in October 2025. As of January 2026, there has still been no replacement or credit issued. We are simply out of pocket with a broken appliance. This experience has completely eroded my trust in both LG and Takealot for large appliances. I will not be purchasing LG products again, and I will avoid buying these types of items through Takealot in future. I would rather deal directly with the manufacturer or use an alternative retailer.

Bad experience with takealot being dishonest. I returned a vanity which was super poor quality the driver decided not to take any pic for proof where i have pic. Then next day i received pics of a vanity that was damaged to a point where takealot decided it was my fault. So how can this be i have proof and the driver never took pic to proof the state of the product. Now almost a month later takealot has my money and the vanity wow this is stealing from your customers and the driver and your policy is to blame but takealot decided to go the route of being dishonest. So yes i had to give a 1 star but wish i could give a negative star rating for this.

What a pathetic excuse for a company! I ordered a toy set for my daughter which arrived on 1 Dec. 2025 at my workplace. A couple of days later after opening the unit, we discovered it had a missing piece and I logged a return with the option to replace. The item was collected from my HOUSE, because at this point I was on leave. A day or two later the return was concluded and my account was CREDITED! I had to call in to rectify it and change it back to the replacement option. The replacement was in process and without my knowledge or consent, the replacement was sent out for delivery to my work address. I had to call in again to rectify the delivery address and I had to wait another 5 working days. Time passed and the replacement was out for delivery for a second time and to my surprise it was on its way to my work address AGAIN - even after confirming my home address! Eventually on 29 Dec. 2025, I got to speak to a consultant by the name of Linda whom I thought would have been able to assist me properly. After assuring me she will send me an email to confirm that I will get my delivery within 3 days, I didn't receive anything! On 30 December I spoke to Zoey, another USELESS team leader! What an excuse for a human being!!!! Another person who promised to email me and then suddenly was on leave by 2 Jan 2025. Now I am also being given the run around by another TEAM LEADER by the name of Tinashe! No updates on email or via calls unless I call her! Takealot, TAKE your online store offline and give your employees better training, because they all seem extremely incompetent!!!

I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with the shockingly poor level of service I have received following my order placed on 01 December 2025. As of 11 December 2025, not a single item has been delivered, despite full payment being made and a confirmed delivery date of 12 December 2025. To make matters worse, I received an email today informing me that my laptop—purchased specifically during your Black Friday promotion—has been cancelled due to the supplier allegedly having no stock. This last-minute cancellation is unacceptable, unprofessional, and an outright breach of the service standards your customers are entitled to expect. I relied on this laptop urgently due to issues with my current device, and your failure to fulfil a fully paid order has caused significant inconvenience. I contacted your call centre and spoke with Marvin Maantz, who advised that another supplier DOES have stock of the exact same model. He assured me that he would escalate this matter and that his manager, Aiden Kamp, would contact me urgently. Despite this assurance, I have received absolutely no communication from Mr. Kamp or any senior representative. This lack of accountability and follow-through is unacceptable for a company of your size.

ITEMS MISSING - be sure to check first I bought a cell phone on takealot through a supplier called Electronics & Gadgets. The product was supposed to come with an additional protection cover & screen protector - AS ADVERTISED. Package arrived on time. Set the phone up & got going - a few hours. The saw that the cover & screen protector were not in the box. I reached out and after almost 2 weeks of mails back & forth - I am told that I have to return the entire package and re-order if I want all that was advertised. NOT a great experience - Make sure you check everything as it arrives.

The Staff at the Randridge Mall were warm, Friendly, efficient & extremely helpful today - 23rd Aug '25. A Staff Member even offered to carry my purchases to my car - I was most grateful. Thank you Randridge Staff - your kindness & offer to help is deeply appreciated.

I placed an order for 3 items and one was cancelled by Takealot due to suppllier issue, Takalot then gave me a credit on my account. I want to talk to someone and tell them that this does not work for me as I will need to pay for the delivery fee if I order golf balls again. However, for me to talk to a live person is difficult, they have bots doing this, and it seems a laborious process to get to a customer service person. This compares to Temu who just can't be communicated to. In my opinion, this is exactly why online is not that great and stores wont go away. However Takealot needs to make the human interaction important.

3 orders in a row that was delayed with delivery because the parcel apparently arrived at the incorrect courier facility and will be rescheduled without informing you of the inconvenience.Thought takealot had their own courier service,how can you read an adress wrong. And it doesn't help to phone customer complaint,its just a sorry sir for the inconvenience One time might have been acceptable, but three times in a row,within the space of a month,seriously catch a wake up
