Before we left for the UK I was advised to buy a UK phone or sim card. Luckily I didn't. The easySim card I purchased in the UK is perfect as I am abole to choose the payment plan and emails and WhatsApp works everywhere. Furthermore, I don't have to muck around with physically changing sim cards.
I recommend easySim for all overseas travellers so they can keep in touch with family and friends. It's the best!
