The team building we received was well intentioned and delivered by an approachable team in EML, but it was lacking a few key components:
- It was not clearly instructed when we were required to go into breakout rooms what the set up would be
- Teambuilding exercises were not made clear by staff live at the session
- Links to games weren't well posted
- Feedback system - emailing the team - cost time together as a group
- The instruction videos cost valuable time in breakout rooms - it is much more personable to deliver a "how to" presentation live to the whole client group and then split people into breakout rooms, leaving people time to ask questions
- The games could be better as instructions were not clear and it felt very self-led
- The software used for games seemed old fashioned
- The horse racing game wasn't really interactive at all and the jokes were quite old fashioned
- The treasure hunt was fun
More interaction from live staff, less reliance on email, better signposted links and an improvement on the team games would make a huge difference to the wider event. I would in all honesty lose the horse racing since it's quite clunky and doesn't feel interactive.
