I bought a custom built laptop a few years ago and received good service, so was very happy at the time. However, time has proved that the hardware is very flimsy. I've only travelled with it twice, and the first time one of the hinges got damaged (so I keep it open because closes crookedly and I'm nervous it'll get worse), the second time the SD slot stopped working (How on earth could that happen?). I've travelled a LOT with Dell laptops from work and never had a single issue. Quite early on my laptop started overheating if I used it while on charge, so I now only use it on the battery. Have had to replace that, which wasn't cheap. A friend who bought a Estripe laptop at the same time had so many issues with hers (keyboard was one) that she's had to replace it. I'm still using mine and hope it'll last a while yet, but when I come to replace it, I'll choose a more robust brand.
