The uppers of the slippers are tremendously comfortable - the boiled wool is a cozy hug for the feet. The insoles are a different story altogether. The cheap insoles ruin what would have been a perfect slipper! As someone who has arthritic feet with Morton’s neuroma in both feet, support is of utmost importance. These cheap foam insoles with the cheap polyester-wool blend are an insult to the slipper. When I walk on foam, the rebound presses against my neuromas and aggravated them. For a slipper of this price and caliber, they should have all-natural insoles (cork, wool (with no polyester) and leather, etc). This polyester blend is rough on the bottom of the foot and made my feet burn and sweat terribly. Absolutely hated the insoles and so I had to return the slippers. Next complaint: the draw cord doesn’t stay drawn and requires continual tightening. I finally had to tie a hair tie around the cord on the pair I have to keep it from slipping. I have ordered a pair of Sanita insoles to place in my other pair of Giesswein slippers. Now, for the price I paid for the Giesswein slippers and then having to order insoles from Sanita (who KNOW how to make a proper insole), I could have just purchased Sanita to begin with. Fix the insole and you’d have a 5 star slipper. As it is, with this cheap insole, it’s a 3-star slipper. I’m leaving 4-stars for potential. But please, please stop using cheap insoles in your slippers. Go back to the way you originally used to make them - cork and all natural materials.
