I am not someone who leaves bad reviews for people on a regular basis but I felt that I needed to because I would hate for others to experience the same that we have experienced.
We worked with KFH for more than 6 months before we had to fire them because the service was so poor.
Where to start..there are too many things to mention but here is a generally flavour.
There was a general level of prevailing incompetence and disinterest that was present in the office. A new manager came in half way through our time with them who promised the earth and delivered absolutely nothing. Our point person (the assistant manager no less) was utterly disinterested in providing any level of service. It was a bit like getting your huffy teenage son and his mates to market and sell your property. He reminded me of Kevin from Harry Enfield. Everything was too much trouble. I asked him for more feedback about what was happening as we would go weeks without hearing anything from them. He actually said it was kind of boring for him to keep writing the same thing every week so he didn't want to bother. There was no guidance from them on what to do in terms of strategy - every time we asked we were met with well what do you want to do. How much do you want to list it for? How much do you think we should list it for? I don't know, it just depends on how much you want. Conversations like that.
We had 2 buyers. One who made an offer then retracted it weeks after. Fair enough. The second strung the team along for more than 4 months from offer accepted to not even arranging the survey which he said he wanted. The team didn't seem to think anything was wrong with this. When I told other estate agents about that, they laughed and said that's an absolute shocker.
They recommended that we list the property for £775k. He seemed really confident so we agreed. Tumbleweed. He brought it down to £700k. Some interest. Brought it down again. Offer made and accepted. 2 bank surveys valued it at £600k. Apparently this was happening all the time in the area KFH said. So why did we waste 6 months (whilst paying all the bills and mortgage) listing a property at £775k, £175k over the bank valuation levels? The response was well it was worth a shot.
Communication was shocking - emails were generally ignored. No regular updates. Every time we phoned, it was oh i was going to speak to you.
They left the back door open for more than 10 days. When I got shirty with them, they said "it's ok because it didn't look open".
There were a couple of issues in the property that they mentioned in passing days/weeks after. Things that needed to be addressed promptly.
Repeatedly ask them for the handover materials when we had said we were leaving and it took weeks to get them. When we left, they didn't say a thing. Just not interested.
We moved to another London-wide property firm and it's like night and day. The KFH team I would give 1.5 or 2 out of 10, the new firm 8.5 out of 10. They are responsive, pleasant, motivated, energised, helpful - all the things that you would expect from a firm like KFH but was entirely absent.
I would hate for others to waste their time and a lot of money on these guys. They have cost us tens of thousands.
