Had the misfortune of hooking up a really large BFT before learning what everyone else on the boat knew; the hooks are no good for big fish. After 45 minutes the fish came up a few hundred yards from the boat and finished chewing through the hook leader. If you buy them for catching ground fish they are probably OK. For big fish replace the hooks with good hooks having leaders about 3 times as thick. I used OCEAN CAT Assist Hooks from amazon. They cost about $3 each which adds a bit to the jig cost. As I found that this losing fish on the rip-roller is common knowledge I am disappointed in both Mustasd and Melton Hill for selling them. They are quite effective for BFT night-jigging if you replace the hooks.
