There had been a typing mistake in the registration number on my insurance policy, and this had not been noticed by me, my wife, or even the police when I went through a roadside spot check. The details were correct when the policy was first taken out as even before the certificate was issued I had taxed the vehicle, but within 30 minutes the mistake was made during the preparation of the paperwork.
