There is always a slight smell with a temper pillow, but after leaving it in fresh air for 24 hours the smell has gone completely. It was much lighter in weight than I expected and quite thin in depth, however, this is probably the best Tempur pillow I've ever had. I have spondylosis in my neck and I'm a side sleeper so I have to make sure my pillow is firm and that it fits my neck perfectly. This one does. Since using the pillow I've had the best nights sleep in ages. For me this is perfect.
