My wife and I booked a room through snap travel because we knew we would need a place to rest on our long drive from point A to point B. We booked the day before and prepaid and received the confirmation number and were even followed up with a text message about our booking confirmation. We arrive at the motel around midnight and we were exhausted. We get to the window to check in with our confirmation number and the front desk clerk tells us that they are sold out. He claims he informed the booking site to stop excepting the reservation for his motel because he has been sold out and can not accommodate us. So we tried to contact someone from the website to help us and we had NO luck. I began to look for other options out there and all hotels in the area were sold out as well. We were in the middle of Bakersfield,CA and did not feel comfortable sleeping in our car out there. Both my wife and I were both too tired to continue on. So the man at the front desk noticed this and told us hey we have a room under construction in the back it has a bed and working bathroom you can take that. With our situation and being stuck where we were we had to take it. We get to the room we first noticed that the door had been kicked open and then was kind of fixed but it left a 1 inch gap between the frame and the door. The bathroom door had a huge hole in it. Only 3 of the lights in the room worked, the smell was awful it was a mixture of cigarette smoke, corn nuts and old urine. The sinks or tube did not drain, the carpet was so thick with dirt that you wouldn't want to walk on it with bare feet. With door not closing all the way we had to barricade our self in the room with a table and a chair. It was awful. My wife got rest I stayed up to stand guard because there were alot of shady characters around the place. The police showed up in the area for one call or another at least twice. I don't blame the motel because they did there best help us when they did not have to. The Snaptravel.com people should of handled all of this better. They should have a 24 hour customer support phone number. They should have communicated to us that the motel was sold out. This website us untrustworthy I believe and I would not use them again.
