I have been caring for a homeless kitten and she caught the cat flu. Unfortunately, she had a turn for the worse the day I was due to go away for a few days. When I told a local vet the situation ,he said he couldn’t care for her in surgery for more than a day due staff shortage. And suggested VSOS because they are 24 hours. I was told by them that they do not accept stray kittens, especially if contagious (apparently they don’t have quarantine facilities). So back to vet who agreed to treat kitten after a friend agreed to care for her until I return. So, anyone who finds sick homeless cats or kittens, don’t expect VSOS to treat them. Also, apparently these days there is no such thing as days in an animal hospital.
