We have previously owned your typical, "Storage Tank" RO system. After finding out about the quantity of water used to flush the system, I did a test of my own. It was an unbelievable 6 to 1. 6 gallons of water to each (1) gallon of water used. The old system came out that day. The water tasted great but I wasn't about to waste 6 gallons down the drain. After some research, I found Waterdrop. They claim 1 to 1 on the water usage. So far, after a simple installation and a month or so of use, the water quality and taste is every bit as good as our last system, but with far less wastewater. The water flow is on the slow side but that is expected because of the mechanical pump used to push the water through the RO membrane. All things considered.....worth every penny.
