I really like the "outside of the box" design of Xeric watches and there are some other models that I would love to add to my collection. That being said, my impulse buy of the Halograph II Chrono Murder Hornet was just that, an impulse. I like it, it's beautiful and different, but it's not easy to read (even when you get used to the method). The numbers seem too small for the busy dial and it takes a bit to actually tell what time it is. The yellow and black are striking and the yellow stitching on the leather strap really ties in well. The build quality is top notch and the finish looks great even under a magnifying lens. I'm happy with my purchase mostly because I got it on a Black Friday discount that was pretty substantial. I'm not sure how happy I would be if I paid retail for this piece. I wanted to add a Xeric to my collection for a long time and that discount made it too hard to pass up. If you're thinking about purchasing one, I would recommend it, but take your time to choose the one you really want, and perhaps wait for a good sale.
