Awful, dreadful Company. Yell contacted me to build my website in January 2022. I wasn't planning on a website for my business as I planned to sell on Etsy. But Yell promised me the world and I fell for it. It all went downhill from there. The website was built and went live before I had any input. It was shocking. Text which couldn't be read, awful layout, it just looked like it had been done by a child. I had to completely re design it myself, which took me a week of very late nights/often no sleep after work. But it got done, by someone who has never built a website. I was told that Yell would take care of any changes and there were some that I didn't have the knowledge to do. Such as a lightbox. I was also told this couldn't be done..... I managed to do it. Aside from shoddy quality, Customer Service is the worst I have ever and ever hope to experience. Send an email and you will get a frustrated response at the end of the day, meaning your queries run over the course of a few days. Call and you can expect to spend an hour of your time in queues. Use the new messaging service they are so proud of as the 'Quickest way to contact them' and you will waste even more time and have to call anyway. Payment - I was specifically told I couldn't use Wix Payments. However, Yell in their wisdom (or lack thereof) set Wix payment up on my site and it took 3 weeks to receive payment for goods sold, and I only got it then because chased them and then had to jump through many many hoops. The final nail in the coffin for me though was when I spent all weekend until 6am, having 3 hours sleep, uploading all of my stock to my Facebook and Instagram stores. I spoke to Yell about some issues (surprise surprise) on the Monday and was told that I should link my Wix website to the Facebook and Instagram stores to update all in 1 go in future. I had dreams of how much time I would save, no more sleepless nights, what a winner. How wrong was I?!...... The whole lot got deleted and caused Facebook to block my store. Which I then had to re gain approval for. This took a couple of days, all time where my business looked ridiculous to my customers, who were excitedly told about the shops being open for them. Yell blame Facebook, but it was all up and running before they stuck their noses in, so I simply cannot agree with them. It's been a week now since I finally got out of the contract, and that was only because I contacted Claire Miles the CEO and the entirety of the Hell Leadership Team to inform them of my disgust in the service received. I still haven't fully populated my Facebook store as I feel totally exhausted from my hellish time with Yell. They have affected my business, my mental health, my full time job and also the additional business I was starting, but have felt too exhausted to do from all of the stress. Before you spend a fortune on this service, I urge you to look around for a more personable service who actually care about their customers. Throughout my time with Yell, I have run my own Google Ads running and I was completely managing the SEO and keywords on the website. If I (a complete novice who has spent their career in Construction and not web building) can do it, then anybody can. I feel relieved to be free and gaining my mental health back every day. I hope I can gain the strength to move my businesses forward. The funny thing is, Yell sent me an email today saying they accept no liability for my issues and have let me out of my contract as a Goodwill Gesture. Why can't people just admit to their shortcomings. Goodbye Yell, I hope you take my suggestion for the name change HELL
