I ordered a gift of 3 Bottles to be delivered to my elderly sister. The driver did not knock (my sister and her husband were both in and neither are deaf) Instead I, as the sender, received a message to say it had been left in a safe place... the front porch. Since my sister does not have a front porch I immediately rang her. She opened her front door to find a wet and broken box on her doorstep. Yes, the contents were smashed. Yes, given the state of the box, the driver MUST have been aware. Yes, this is obviously why he did not knock and chose instead to abandon the delivery on the outside step before sneaking off. Shame on him! Now I have to go to the trouble of contacting the company where I made the online purchase and try to get a resolution. Not as easy as it sounds apparently because since my address is not the address to which it was delivered (it was a gift) it is the recipient who has to make the telephone call (my sister is 81....imagine the stress) So what was intended to be a wonderful surprise has been completely ruined by the incompetence of your courier and a number of people have been left upset and disappointed. Yodel have the worst reputation of any UK Delivery Service and, had I known the supplier used this company, I would never have placed the order at all...and this is what I shall be telling the shop when I speak to them properly tomorrow.
