I ordered a food gift basket to be delivered to my daughter and son in law while they were on vacation in Maine. As their anniversary is on a holiday, I requested that if the delivery couldn't be done on that day, it be made on the day before; and if neither was possible, to please contact me to figure out what to do. Yorkville's did not contact me, and did not deliver the package by the anniversary. When I reached customer service to inquire, they informed me that the package had been mis-routed to their West Coast warehouse, and would be delivered the following week. This defeated the purpose of sending a gift basket for a special occasion, but having no other option, I let it go. The gift basked was delivered the next week, fortunately while they were still at the delivery address. Unfortunately, all the perishable items were melted and ruined, since there was no protection for shipping food items during the summer. This alone is pretty incredible, but even worse, Yorkville's refused to offer a refund unless we submitted photographs documenting the damage. That is, they required that I ask my daughter and son in law to take ruined items out of the trash to take photos of them. It's hard to believe that a company sending food gift baskets is run like this, but that's what happened. Apparently, and despite their homey advertising, Yorkville's is an impersonal corporation, so buyer beware. I almost never submit online reviews, but this was such a disappointing experience that I thought I should warn potential customers looking for good products and service when sending gifts to loved ones on important occasions.
