As it's difficult to get players to commit to a date before availability of a venue is determined, it would be helpful to be able to make a provisional booking valid for a few days without having to pay a non-returnable deposit. For known returning customers it is unlikely that a booking would not proceed, but this would enable an organiser to test interest before committing to an event.
