I studied and I did the research and then actually found a brand (Zaran) that included the correct compounds (Safranal and Crocin) and dosage used in the NCBI studies. Within 2 DAYS, wow, I first noted a decrease in depression and more mood stability. After 2 months I found that I can MAINTAIN my weight loss. Never before in my life has my weight stayed stable. Incredible. Also very interesting is that I have PCOS and many of my symptoms have improved. As if all of that was not enough, my grandfather whose only joy was reading voraciously, tragically lost his ability to read due to macular degeneration. As a kid, he was my hero because he nurtured my love for reading which helped me through my social anxiety at school. His son (my dad) now has macular degeneration and requires injections into his eyes just to avoid further vision loss. Knowing all of this, I did a DNA test that told me that I have, "an increased risk for macular degeneration". Not a surprise but then I knew that I had, indeed, inherited the same bad "variant" alleles for macular degeneration that took my grandfather's vision. Thanks to Zaran Saffron I feel like I can actively stave off this horrible condition. I ordered first through the store on Amazon but Amazon stopped carrying it last I checked so I tried another brand that claimed to have the same compounds. I could tell within a week it WAS NOT the same. True saffron has a very particular smell and smelling the Zaran version next to the other brand it was clear to me that Zaran is superior and authentic. I can not thank this company enough! I take it, without fail now every day since January 1st of this year. I will never stop and I pray that this superior product is never gone to me. By the way, I'm not the type to ever leave reviews but this exceeds any other supplements I have ever tried before. One last note, read about saffron, specifically Safranal and Crocin in all NCBI studies as these compounds have also been found to kill cancer cells. Again, wonderful quality and please never stop making this product!
