I just received my saffron and have not cooked with it yet. However, whenever I buy a new spice I always look at it and smell it. Doing that gives me a sense of the freshness and depth of flavor. I opened the tin and was so pleased with the depth of fragrance and color in the threads.
I’m looking forward to cooking with the saffron and reporting back the results.
