I have been buying and using saffron for years and one test I always perform is smelling the tin before I even open it. I received the Zaran (first purchase) and was able to smell the saffron as soon as I took it out of the package! The tin was also sealed with a clear tape and I was able to clearly smell the saffron before opening the tin. Made Persian Rice and it was wonderful.
