“The signup process is extremely convoluted with unnecessary steps all the way through. You will be asked to submit your information so a "sales" person gets in touch with you. I got Jesús, who then provided a lot of erroneous information about their services. More on this later.
Instead of using a payment processor for different payment options, you will be asked to transfer money to a bank account. I presume this is to avoid having customers use payment methods where there are consumer protections such as payment disputes and chargebacks.
Back to the "sales" representative: after the money was transferred, he provided a receipt for the wrong course. They signed me up for English classes after explicitly mentioning my intention to join their beginner French classes (you would think they get this information from the form they make you fill out). This was later corrected. However, it appears very unprofessional to only provide a photo of a receipt instead of providing a digital receipt via email.
I was then provided with login information that did not work. The initial start date was not the one I wanted and was confirmed to have. They rescheduled the start date to next week. At the start of the second week now, I was informed again that the start date would be rescheduled.
After paying and having my classes delayed by 3 weeks, I voiced my frustration with the "sales" representative. I was offered a refund, but decided to give them a chance. I later decided to take them on their refund offer, as the constant unprofessionalism, delays and terrible platform no longer fit my needs. Unsurprisingly, they recanted their refund offer and forwarded my request to manager Reynaldo.
Reynaldo was completely unhelpful and only served as a figure to deny the refund that was previously offered.
Tl;dr: terrible website, poor onboarding process, horrendous support, misleading information, no payment options with consumer protections, constant delays, no refund policy, retracted offered refund.
I sincerely recommend anyone to avoid this company in any of the countries it operates. There are many language-learning alternatives that provide incredible support, payment options, platforms full of features and reliable services. Stay far away from Academia Europea.”
