“I have a airfix model of panzer mk 4 wich is in there vintage classic range which is still available unfortunately it has a bit missing so I contacted airfix to try and get a replacement part only to be told that the part is not available
So you cannot get parts for a current kit absolutely terrible service I will be moving away from airfix kit in the future terrible service would not recommend”
“Air Fix is FABULOUS. Technician Jean did a great job troubleshooting my AC system and finding our AC problem. A previous company I had over told me I needed 3 new units ($60,000$) when all I need was a good cleaning an freon. And the best part is it was not terribly expensive.”
“I remember as a boy making Airfix kits which then cost 2/- (10p if you're under 60). Having recently retired and needing a hobby I've taken up model making in 1/35th scale. I bought the Airfix Stuart tank and was really impressed with it.... Except for the tracks! - they're too short.
I will endeavour to solve this, and I will certainly buy Airfix again in the future, but I thought I'd let you know.”
“Acrylic paints supplied by Airfix are very poor - usually needing4-5 coats to cover parts adequately and give any depth of colour. Silver paint more like a light grey rather than a metallic finish. Also
Instructions could be improved also difficulty in removing some parts from sprues without damaging them.
Overall a very disappointing experience and would not purchase Airfix again.”
“What a truly awful company to deal with, especially there customer service. I order 2 kits for my young nephews, as way of an introduction to the wonderful world of modelling.
When the package arrived, both boxes where damaged and now are not suitable to given as gifts. Having what the recent programmes on Yesterday, which went on about how Airfix look after their customers and want to encourage the next generation of modellers.
Well none of that is true, especially by the fact that customer service have failed to contact me. I have call, but all I get is a message saying they are closed - despite phoning them during the time the voicemail message says they are open. Other times I just get 'this persons phone is switched off'.
I will now NEVER buy from Airfix or Hornby Hobbies again. I have now bought my Nephews a Tamyia model each, which I am sure they will be delighted with.”
“It was absolutely terrible , I have been building for 25 years and I have never come across such a terrible sets. A bit of consolation (revell is even worse) here are some reasons why it is so terrible
1. The glue never , ever works
2.the instructions are small enough for an ant
3.even if you do read the instructions, it is almost impossible to make sense of.
If you absolutely have to buy, buy from here because revell is much worse”
“I asked if I could purchase a replacement for a broken part, They sent the part along with the rest of the sprue free of charge and all within a week. Really well packed and first class delivery. I was dealt with promptly and with courtesy. Well done Airfix.”
“Though my forty year model making history Airfix have always been innovative & a permanent fixture of kits in my " stash", they have a unique range always trying to cater for every type of model builder from the pocket money kits as I used to call them to some belters like there huge Bentley kit. even now as an highly experienced builder , I tend to take time out just to build a kit from my roots, a Spitfire , Hurricane or even a pesky Messerschmitt Bf 109, they go together now even better than before, so much so I have just ordered six more kits even though there are some forty Airfix kits in my huge 200 plus " stash". They deliver for free if you spend up to a limit & they arrive, well packed & in pristine condition, I will always have Airfix kits on my work bench. highly recommended indeed. They are an iconic brand & I'm proud to buy & build them.
Thank you Airfix!.”
