“Was planning a birthday party. Asked for a taster session. Selected from menu provided and number of people. Was expecting a taster portions/session but at venue was presented with full meal portions for 4, to my surprise and a bill for £299.81 much to my shock. My past experience in 2 Mayfair/Victoria establishments were different; they provided taster portions for free so I assumed the same for Ampersand. Complained and suggested a compromise since I did not ask about payments but I did ask for a taster session. Tasting is never full meal portions. They declined to go halves on the bill. They said full portions is what is provided for taster portions. This was not told to me and I did not ask so my suggestion to go halves on the bill was fair but they declined. Future customers beware.”
