“Robert
Buyer beware
This company seems to always find a way not to cover a claim. I am retired from the Army and so if any military person is reading this, please go else where for coverage. Not going to go into details but this place is a POS. had a HAVAC problem on a brand new home which is close to a millon, all they said is sorry its not covered. The house is 6 months old”
“They take your money, take weeks to decide if they are going to pay and then decide they're not going to. Don't water your money. Use another warranty company”
Hello Tom,
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. I can understand your frustration with the claim delay, and we would like to apologize for the length of time it took for your claim determination to be made. This does not live up to our award-winning customer service standards, and we will be coaching our employees to correct the issue.
Regarding your claim determination results, to qualify for coverage, potentially covered items must be fully operational upon occupancy of the home, and then fail from normal wear and tear during the warranty coverage period. I see that you advised us that the Hot Tub would not turn on the first time trying to use it. Per the terms of the warranty, we are unable to assist with items that failed prior to the start of the warranty coverage period.
Also, I see that your Dishwasher claim is still open. If you would like to complete this claim, please have your contractor call us at 800.648.5006 prior to any work being completed. We are open 24/7/365 and we would be happy to assist!

America's Preferred Home Warranty
“Horrible, unethical company. As others have said, they will go out of their way to not pay your claim. They made the process convoluted and inconvenient, they "fine print" you out of paying absolutely anything, and they expect you to pay a deductible on top of the crazy high cost of the warranty.”
“Well guys, I really wish I had consulted Yelp, Trustpilot, or Pissedconsumer before I bought a home warranty. APHW was rated as the best home warranty by Consumer Advocate (2019) and has good reviews on Google for some reason.
All I can figure is that all the other companies must actually break into your house and rob you. That's the only way they could be any worse than APHW.
I paid for their Supreme Home Warranty with all the add-ons, bells and whistles, and a $100 deductible. I've now filed two claims - plumbing and A/C - both of them straightforward and exactly what you buy a home warranty for. APHW denied both claims.
Not a penny. And you can tell when they're speaking with the service technician that they're trying to figure out a way to not pay the claim. Most of the service personnel around here (Texas) refuse to deal with home warranties for this reason.
Anyhow, one of the things I hate worst in this world is feeling like a fool. Unless you like that feeling, I'd think twice about home warranties in general.
That said, if you're still going to purchase one, find another company. Any other company.”
