“Heyy! I know this was put up ages ago but I wanted to just share my opinions as I have just finished going there..... the school is definitely not worth the money I would only say it is if you are an incredibly studious person and the teachers can see that, in that case you will get help but if you are struggling or not as studious as other people you will definitely be left in the dark a bit. The teachers and the school only care about the studious kids. Over my two years I have heard outrageous stuff that teachers have said either to a student personally or to a whole classroom of kids, which I found extremely disrespectful and no of the teachers every get brought up on their actions. I would say there is a few good teachers but other then that you can clearly tell half of the teachers are only there for the pay. The school had study classes put in place for the students which I think is a good idea but as a student who can't study in a massive room or need complete silence it didn't do me well, and if you don't go to study numerous times a teacher will walk past and call you a "waster" or other stuff that is completely unnecessary and unprofessional. I have first hand seen how terribly the school has dealt with confrontation between students or even a student and a teacher and I have to say it is completely disgusting to see, I have been in a scenario like that and all my feelings or the stuff that I had happen to me was pushed to the side and I was told to let it go or they would shut me down making a excuse for that person. There is still loads more that I have experienced in my two years at that school, but I wouldn't strongly discourage anyone going as i went in thinking I would become a better student but it made me feel inadequate as a person as u don't get the recognition u deserve with the amount you are paying .”
“Some of the teachers are very good but most of them are really bad at explaining certain things which I really dislike. The prices are very over-priced. The people there are also trying to make you lose out on many things. For example, I was not given an email for the online lessons when we went into lockdown. Trying to get your money.”
“Excellent course, from the class sizes to the content delivered. With the exception of the Chemistry all other classes were superb and the notes issued were extremely valuable.
The Chemistry for me was not of the same standard as that of which I was receiving in my mainstream school, however, this was purely due to the fact that my teacher was a former university lecturer and the class consisted of only 3 people. I don't think any grind class could compete with that.
Overall I found Ashfield excellent and would recommend it to all.”
“I thought Ashfield was very good for Jnr. Cert Maths revision but because it was only for 4 days (no classes on Good Friday) it would have been great if we'd been told what would be covered each day. If I'd known that the areas I most needed help with were going to be covered on the Wed. & Thurs., I could have skipped the Monday & Tuesday! But I really did find it very helpful.”
“All class's were good but with the physics class it went into way too much detail about the Nuclear physics and not enough detail about chapters like mechanics, light, electricity and semiconductors.”
“I attended a 3 day ACCA revision course and I was very happy with my decision.
Materials provided were very good, these were course comprehensive and found them very useful.
The fact that lectures are recorded was also very handy as it means I could log in at later stage if I needed to re-listen or review any points.
The lecturer was also very good and although I was only attending revision course I was made feel included as the other students, I was even given email address and phone number in case I had any further queries.
Post course I've been included in group emails, related to ACCA news, facts etc, but also job offers.
I would not hesitate to recommend to others or use the service again myself.”
