“This family run business gives the impression of being trustworthy and of a certain quality however this is certainly not my experience. I purchased a set of 2 shelves (£25) whereby one has broken off and smashed a large candle (£19.99). Whilst I have provided all picture evidence and receipts this small refund request this has been very abruptly declined. I am told the reason for the shelf breaking is that I painted it white which is clearly false and an abuse of power. The owner has previous record for blocking customers and he hung up the phone to me twice telling me to engage with a solicitors. I have explained I am legally trained but he doesn't seem to appreciate that very few people are going to go through the hassle of a court claim for the sake of £45. I try to support small businesses by it is very hurtful to be hung up on and accused of harrassment. I mentioned my intention to provide an honest review to support other customers and I have been told this would amount to slander and I should expect to hear from their solicitors. I am still awaiting solicitor contact and I am happy to continue communicating to anyone appropriate in a calm and fair manner as I know I have not been impolite or aggressive in my communications. The shelf breaking and glass shattering created a real risk to injuring my small dog and I would've hoped I could've been afforded more dignity and integrity over such a low value refund request.”
