I only stayed at the Baron for 1 night, but I would certainly visit it again. The room was lovely, I was made to feel very welcome and relaxed. The food was fantastic and very good value for money.

A fabulous experience in a high class establishment. THis hotel is every bit as beautiful as it looks on the website. The rooms are furnished and finished to a high standard. With bathroom fittings of high standard and spotlessly clean. Friendly help ful staff High quality , tasty well presented food with a large choice. Chef even came out to check our food was to our liking.

At The Baron for a one night getaway. Stayed in Room 5. Extremely comfortable, spacious & with whirlpool bath, separate shower. All amenities excellent. Ate lunch, evening meal, & breakfast. Wonderful food. Also made packed lunch for us for a hike. Very friendly, helpful owners/staff & relaxed & lovely atmosphere. Great area for walking, hiking from the door, and the lovely town of Ludlow to visit about 10 miles away. Will be back!

Our group of six friends spent 3 days here over New Year. This is our 6th year of going away together at New Year and we all agree that The Baron was the best accomodation we have had. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed with everything provided that you could possibly want - even chocolate which was replaced every day! The food in the restaurant in the evenings was first class, as were the breakfasts. Phil and Debra were really friendly hosts and there was a good atmosphere every night with local people. The location is perfect for walking and for getting into Ludlow or Knighton. If I had any criticism at all the only thing I would say that it might be nice to have some sofas or easy chairs in the pub, but that is the only thing! We will definitely stay again.

Enjoyed 2 nights at the Baron, primarily to visit the Ludlow Medieval Fayre which incidently was very, even in the rain. Rooms are fabulous, attention to details is great;lovely comfy bed, lovely bathroom, all the little extras, a real treat. Ate in the restaurant on the Friday; was bit quiet as to be expected on a rainy night in November; food was good. Loved Shropshire, went to Church Sretton on the Sunday to walk Long Mynd; very lucky with the weather on the Sunday; would love to go back when the weather is a bit warmer as I love to walk and there are so many lovely places to walk near the Baron.

The Baron at Bucknell proved to be every bit as good as the reviews we'd read suggested. A warm welcome from the proprietor's Mum was just the start of a very enjoyable visit in which we had the benefit of a very smart and comfortable room, some really pleasant food and wine and a very friendly atmosphere. The Baron is ideally siuated for visits to the local area and its attractions (Ludlow, Bishops Catle, Church Stretton all within easy reach) and is itself situated in a quiet village surrounded by beautiful countryside. We would both definitely recommend this impressive establishment.

Warm and friendly atmosphere. Gorgeous room. Immaculate with attention to detail. Wi-fi and wall mounted television/dvd player excellent. Large number of sockets to meet all your needs. Breakfast view from conservatory of surrounding hills and countryside wonderful. Breakfast and evening meals delicious. Great cider and beer. By far the best bed and breakfast we have been to. Ludlow and Church Stretton within easy reach. Good walks to be had from the inn. Faultless. Already booked again for April 2013!

The rooms at the Baron are lovely, & so clean. Everything seems to have been thought of. Breakfasts were very good, with lots of choice. The evening meals were well cooked,& good value, but I think we were expecting more gastro type food, simply because of the area the pub is located in. Ludlow is renowned for being a foodie place!

We can't fault the Baron at Bucknell. Lovely people, beautifully appointed modernised rooms, they really have thought of everything, amazing food and nothing too much trouble. Great location for exploring Shropshire, the beauty of which we had not appreciated until now. Thanks so much!

Good food, excellent rooms, peaceful setting, lovely views, good local walking, lots to do and see in the locality. We had a very pleasant two night stay and shall be returning here again. Everyone was very friendly and there was nothing lacking, although a little more sunshine would have been nice, maybe we'll get that next time

We were really well looked after, by a hard working, very welcoming family. The only other things that would have made it perfect would be some comfy seating in the bar. (The atmosphere wasnt very homely in the conservatory in the evening, but a wonderful bright space for breakfast). Also, a real fire being lit would have made the bar much cosier. The food was lovely, the real ale great and the room beautifully decorated in and immaculately clean. A lovely base from which to take in the lovely surroundings of Shropshire. We wish Phil and Debra a long and successful business at the Baron.
