“When you book a night away - for whatever reason - you want to know when you get there that everything's going to be OK. At the Baron at Bucknell it was. Our room (5) was very comfortable and clean (it was obviously only done out quite recently); we ate there and the food was good; so was the breakfast; and the staff are friendly without trying too hard. View from the conservatory (where breakfast and meal were served) isn't too shabby either. So we could just relax. Which is worth 5 stars.”
“At The Baron for a one night getaway. Stayed in Room 5. Extremely comfortable, spacious & with whirlpool bath, separate shower. All amenities excellent. Ate lunch, evening meal, & breakfast. Wonderful food. Also made packed lunch for us for a hike. Very friendly, helpful owners/staff & relaxed & lovely atmosphere. Great area for walking, hiking from the door, and the lovely town of Ludlow to visit about 10 miles away. Will be back!”

“The rooms at the Baron are lovely, & so clean. Everything seems to have been thought of. Breakfasts were very good, with lots of choice. The evening meals were well cooked,& good value, but I think we were expecting more gastro type food, simply because of the area the pub is located in. Ludlow is renowned for being a foodie place!”
“Warm and friendly atmosphere. Gorgeous room. Immaculate with attention to detail. Wi-fi and wall mounted television/dvd player excellent. Large number of sockets to meet all your needs. Breakfast view from conservatory of surrounding hills and countryside wonderful. Breakfast and evening meals delicious. Great cider and beer. By far the best bed and breakfast we have been to. Ludlow and Church Stretton within easy reach. Good walks to be had from the inn. Faultless. Already booked again for April 2013!”
“The Baron at Bucknell proved to be every bit as good as the reviews we'd read suggested. A warm welcome from the proprietor's Mum was just the start of a very enjoyable visit in which we had the benefit of a very smart and comfortable room, some really pleasant food and wine and a very friendly atmosphere. The Baron is ideally siuated for visits to the local area and its attractions (Ludlow, Bishops Catle, Church Stretton all within easy reach) and is itself situated in a quiet village surrounded by beautiful countryside. We would both definitely recommend this impressive establishment.”

“Our short break started with a warm, friendly greeting and that set the tone for the whole stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely - everything fresh and clean and it contained all we could possibly want. There was a very generous amount of tea, coffee and drinking chocolate and even a bottle of spring water which was replaced every day. It also had a good quality hairdryer, radio/alarm and soft table lamps. The bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and warm fluffy towels. Nothing was skimped. The food was home cooked and well prepared and the ambience in the inn was very good.We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay and would love to come again.”
“After a long search for accommodation in the Ludlow area we booked in at the ?Baron? having been impressed with the information provided online. We were certainly not disappointed. The bedrooms cannot be described as anything less than fantastic. The feeling of knowing you were staying somewhere special was confirmed the moment the door was opened. The standard of decor and facilities is clear to see and our room was finished to a very high specification and was beautifully presented. We stayed for two nights and were able to enjoy breakfast on each morning of our stay as well as an evening meal on the Saturday. The food was lovely and again the table service was excellent. Following our meal on the Saturday evening we spent some time at the bar whilst enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. For us the highlights were the room, excellent service and the fact we left feeling well rested despite fitting in a busy day visiting the local area. We will be coming back again soon!”

“My partner and I stayed at the Baron last weekend and without doubt will be returning. We received a warm and friendly welcome and before long we exchanged banter with Phil over the complexities of making a whiskey coffee! We felt like regulars within a very short space of time. Our room was fantastic. The amount of work and attention to detail that Phil and Debra have put in was evident the minute we were shown to our room. The standard of furnishings, the space and light are outstanding. There's even an ipod doc! They clearly want their guests to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay and we certainly did. We found the bed a little soft for our taste but other than that, faultless. The food, both at dinner and breakfast, was delicious. A great choice and full of flavour. We will definitely be returning and I have to say, ONE NIGHT IS DEFINITELY NOT ENOUGH! Thank you to Phil, Debra and their team for contributing to a wonderful weekend.”

“We had a friendly welcome as soon as we walked in. After having a quick drink in the bar we were shown to our room. The room was beautiful. It felt clean and the en suite was spotless. The bed was comfortable and there is plenty of storage for longer stays. Breakfast was lovely with a choice of cereals, fruit and full English. Overall a very pleasant stay in a pretty place with wonderful views”
“A very comfortable 3 night stay, rooms are spotless and furnished to a very good standard. Dinner each night, was delicious, consisting of good quality fresh ingredients ,well cooked. If we had been staying longer, the menu might be a little restrictive in choice, but it is a case of quality over quantity. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful- a most enjoyable stay.”
