“Enjoyed our stay.Comfortable, warm room with complimentary toiletries. Dinner was tasty and we had quick service. Attentive staff and good value for money.”
“The Baron at Bucknell is a credit to Phil and Debbie. First class all round. It's everything it says it is. We will most definitely return. Thanks for a great experience.”
“I had to go up to Shropshire on business and had originally looked at hotels in Ludlow but left it a bit late and found most were full so looked on the internet for hotels around Ludlow. The web page of The Baron at Bucknell looked interesting so I booked my stay there. I am delighted that I did, it is a first class hotel that would hold it's own with any hotel worldwide. The quality of the rooms, the cleanliness of the entire hotel, the welcome of the owners, the supurb service of the staff and the delicious food are all exceptional. Every last little detail to make staying there as comfortable as possible was included. Not to mention the stunning views. I would thoroughly reccommend anyone visiting that area to book their stay at the Baron.”
“I booked our weekend break as a surprise 'stocking filler' for my partner for christmas, we'd always wanted to visit Ludlow and so on looking for somewhere to stay I came across the 'Barons' website, liked what I saw and booked it! The website does not do this 'gem' of a find justice... there is nothing negative I can say about this place, the building, the bedrooms (luxury isnt in it!) the food and the welcome was more than we expected. The view from the conservatory whilst eating breakfast is wonderful, we watched rabbits, saw kestrels and hawks whilst enjoying a well cooked, lovely presented full english breakfast. It is a family run place, and it shows, the attention to detail and the effort made for us to enjoy our stay, (right down to their lovely daughter waiting on our table on Sunday morning)was delightful. This place is a find, and I'll defy anyone not to enjoy a weekend here. Well done 'The Baron' we will be seeing you again soon!”
“Thank you to Phil & Debra who make you feel so welcome - as do all the staff. We were there for several nights over Christmas and it was lovely, just like being at home! The rooms are really comfy and the food is excellent, quality local produce, cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back & be spoiled a bit more!”
“We stayed at The Baron on new year's eve. The room was lovely, the food was great and the owners could not have made us feel more welcome. A wonderful place to stay in beautiful surroundings and a great way to see in the new year. We hope to be back next new year if not before.”
“Very friendly welcome and lovely location. The rooms are very well equipped and beautifully clean. The best cooked breakfast I have had in a long time!”
“Our stay from 25-28 Nov 2011 could not have been better. The bedrooms are newly added this year and are extremely comfortable. We had wonderful home-cooked breakfasts and a most enjoyable dinner on one of the evenings. Phil takes great care of all his guests and he and his family all work incredibly hard. Nothing is too much trouble and we wish them all the best in the future and hope to be back again soon.”
“We really enjoyed our stay at 'The Baron'. The decor and cleanliness of the bedrooms was first class. The food was good and the staff friendly and courteous. We will be returning next year.”
“The Baron has to be one of the cleanest establishments we've ever stayed at. The furnishings and finish of the refurbished work - sheds are a credit to the Baron's owners who are rightly proud of their home from home establishment. Little touches (dare I say, obviously female?) brilliant bathroom lighting, shelving in just the right place, discreet night light for the loo etc. toiletries were brilliant quality with plenty of huge fluffy towels available. Big bonus, lovely chocolates and bottled water provided as a matter of course made us feel really welcome. The offer of fresh milk for our teas upon arrival was an extra nice touch. Easily controllable heating, windows opening up onto the countryside for clean fresh air - a bonus these days with stuffy air conditioned hotels in abundance. Tons of leaflets, maps and things to do lists made room 2 a delight to stay in. Wish we could have stayed longer. The bar areas are superbly clean and well designed so that you can eat either in privacy or in the company of the very friendly locals and owners. The food is spot on with a quirky home made pizza menu also available. We enjoyed both menus which were very good value mmmmmm. Breakfast, as you'd expect was efficient and tasty with full use made of the locally produced sausages, bacon etc. I had no problem at all finding something suitable for me, a fussy veggie. Location? Spot on again, just a short drive to Ludlow etc., via beautiful countryside and, another bonus, quiet roads. What more could you wish for? A longer stay next time of course!”
“This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The rooms were very comfortable. the owners and staff made us very welcome. the food was brillant, the best steak ever. It is in a lovely area, and we will return soon to do some proper walking. We would recommend thr Baron to anyone wanting a quiet break”
“We had a wonderful weekend. The room was super and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was of a very high standard. This is our second visit and we plan to visit again next year.”
“We were very lucky to discover this place just by chance, and will remember the Baron as one of the most memorable hotels we had the luck to stay at during our recent visit to England. It is very highly recommended.”
