“I recently bought a meat box from Beacon Farms, and it’s clear from the first cut that these folks take their work seriously. The quality is exactly what you hope for when you buy from a proper British farm: clean, well-butchered cuts with real flavour, not the bland supermarket stuff that’s travelled halfway across the world.
What really stood out to me, though, is knowing the animals were raised with genuine care. You can taste the difference when a farm doesn’t cut corners. From the welfare on the field to the way everything was handled right up to dispatch, it’s obvious they run things the right way — the way farms used to, with respect for both the land and the animals. Nothing rushed, nothing careless.
The packaging arrived in great condition, everything chilled properly, and you could tell it had been packed by someone who actually pays attention. It’s refreshing to buy from a place where you feel you’re supporting real farming, not a factory.
If you want meat that’s responsibly raised, properly prepared, and tastes like it should, Beacon Farms is well worth it. I’ll be ordering again.”

I've had two orders so far.
Whole Duck, was lovely (except once defrosted it leaked all over my fridge. Which the chicken didn't. So now I will always put them on a plate)
Meatballs were tasty, a little too small for our liking. So I ordered the mince this time and we'll make our own.
Lamb Shanks were SUPERB. I was so impressed with the meal. Shall be ordering next time. The Osso Bucco looks equally impressive. Not cooked that yet.
The only reason I knocked off a star us for the so called 'Proper Sausages'. I bought the Cumberlands. They are jam packed with E numbers, a flavour enhancer.... emulsifiers, and Dextrose.. Being instantly frozen, totally unnecessary in my opinion.
The lamb burgers have nasty additives too.
Its my fault, I didn't read the ingredients. I just assumed they were as natural as the last 'Grass fed and Regeneratively farmed ' producers i purchased from.
So my bad, and for that, I have 2 packs of food that will be going in the bin😔
We live as naturally as possible.
The amount in the sausages is shocking! Dextrose, AND a flavour inhancer? Did they really taste that bad before all the junk was added?
So for us, its just plain old meat from now on. Which is good enough indeed. Seriously, the lamb really is special.

I also want to thank you for raising your concerns around the sausages and burgers. You are absolutely right to question the ingredients, and I completely understand your disappointment, particularly given your commitment to living as naturally as possible.
At Beacon Farms, our goal has always been to produce naturally exceptional meat that speaks for itself. As a young business bringing a full range to market, we initially used some traditional butcher recipes for a small number of products. While proven and popular, we agree they include ingredients that simply are not necessary when you are working with carefully handled meat of high quality, especially within our frozen supply chain.
I am pleased to say we have been in the process of developing a new range of sausages and burgers for the last four months. Products that are made with just meat and natural seasonings, with no artificial additives, preservatives, or unnecessary extras. Our first pre-production run is taking place this Friday, and these products will replace the entire current range once finalised.
If you would be open to it, I would be more than happy to send you some samples early next week as a thank you for your honesty and to help make up for the disappointment this time around. Whilst we have now got to a point that we are very happy with them, it would be great to get your feedback and any suggestions on how we could make them even better.

“I always order my Christmas meat from farms as the quality is always much nicer and better value for money than the supermarket. This year I ordered from Beacon Farms and honestly, I was rather underwhelmed. My meat was frozen solid, yet leaking extensive liquid and blood out of the vacuum pack on arrival. The rolled beef cooked well and was delicious, however the turkey breast was extremely tough, and had a strange smell.
I know it’s a busy time of year, and I don’t blame the farm as such, but I was hoping for better for the prices I paid. Our Christmas dinner was a bit ruined.”

Beacon farms farming and butchery exceeded my expectations. I had stopped eating meat as all the butchers were going out of business due to the cheap meat being sold in supermarkets (cheap meat is a false economy with no regard for animal welfare)

BUT, having had the rack of lamb on Christmas eve, I can fully understand the costs. I can say without any shadow of doubt that this was the most tender and flavoursome cut of lamb that I have ever had (and I have had quite a few in my 57 years).
