“Be Cautious When Ordering – Misleading Guidance and Poor Service on Perfect Fit Blinds
I ordered Perfect Fit blinds from Blinds Direct, carefully following their measuring guide. Unfortunately, the blinds didn’t fit — partly due to inaccurate manufacturing, and partly because their guidance fails to mention the need for clearance for top screws and bottom springs in the window length rebate. This critical detail is missing from their videos and diagrams, making the product unsuitable unless your window frames already allow for that tolerance.
I paid for the SureFit Guarantee and was initially told it would be honoured, only for them to later reverse their position. Despite providing clear evidence that the blinds weren’t made to my specifications and that their instructions were misleading, I was subjected to months of back-and-forth, during which they repeatedly ignored the evidence, requested redundant measurements, videos, and photos, and required me to repackage and unpack the blinds multiple times — all while avoiding responsibility.
Eventually, only after escalating the matter did they agree to honour the SureFit guarantee. However, by that point I had lost confidence in them and requested a full refund — which they refused, claiming they had done nothing wrong. I then offered to accept the SureFit remake with a small 11mm adjustment to the length, on the condition they waive the £10 collection fee. They refused, stating not only that I must pay the fee, but that there may be further material charges for the remake — something never previously mentioned. Their communication has been repeatedly inconsistent, and they wrongly accused me of changing my story.
Throughout, they falsely claimed I had changed my position (I hadn’t) and ignored the fact that the blinds were not correctly made. I have bought Perfect Fit blinds before for similar frames from another retailer without any such issues. Blinds Direct’s handling of this situation has been exhausting, inconsistent, and dismissive. Their marketing remains misleading, and their after-sales service has been unnecessarily difficult. I would urge buyers to proceed with caution.”
“Very poor quality Roman blinds with defective electrical system. When I wrote to take up the issue they failed to reply and then gave me some nonsense fob off. Total waste of money. Legal action now to be taken.”
